Students are placed in Form Groups
of up to 25 students and are assigned a Personal Learning Time (PLT) teacher.
The PLT teacher is responsible for the
welfare of his/her students and is the first port of call for students and
parent contact. In short, it is the PLT Teacher’s role to:
• oversee student progress and work towards developing a positive student
work ethic;
• work closely with their team of teachers;
• monitor student uniform and issue either detentions or uniform passes
to students not in uniform;
• regularly monitor the use of student diaries/management books
• collate student reports;
• monitor and follow up student absences.
The role of the Coordination team is to manage and oversee the operation of the Junior School, provide PLT teachers and their teacher teams with support and to deal with serious breaches of the Student Code of Conduct. Specialist student support is available through the Student Counsellor and Transition Coordinator.
