At Craigieburn Secondary College students have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument as part of the college’s growing Instrumental Music Program. Students can elect to participate in instrumental music lessons as an extracurricular activity which compliments their classroom studies by helping to build self-confidence, commitment and teamwork skills.
Students can choose to study the following instruments:
A competitive and reasonable tuition fee is payable at the start of each semester for lessons. The College also has a limited number of instruments available to hire, and an application form must be submitted with a hire payment fee. More details about Instrumental Music Program as well as the fee structure for lessons and instrument hire are available on the application form which is available from the school admin office or downloadable from the following link.
Our instrumental music teachers are highly qualified and skilled performers who bring their passion for music to the classroom every day. The teachers are easily approachable and committed to helping the students achieve success on their chosen instrument.
Students perform both within the college and in the wider community. There are also two school music concerts held throughout the year which showcase the work of the instrument music students. VET Music Production students and music staff work together on the production, promotion and organisation of the school concerts. The school music concerts are a great experience for the performance and production students and the audience.
Craigieburn Secondary College offers Classroom Music for students from Years 7 to 10 and VET Music Industry Skills as a VCE subject in Years 10 & 11.
